A word from our instructor, Ginny Gillespie
Hello, my name is Ginny Gillespie and I couldn’t be more thrilled about having this opportunity to lead you through the practice of yoga at Evolution Fitness & Training. My journey with yoga started way back in 2000. I immediately fell in love with the physical and mental discipline of the practice and knew that someday I would become an instructor.
What is yoga? My favorite definition is “to still the fluctuations of the mind“ It’s a practice that consists of carving out time in our busy lives to connect with our breath, move our bodies, and quiet the chatter of the mind. This practice isn’t meant to be easy. We’ll challenge ourselves, our balance, our ability to let all the thoughts go (don’t worry, they’ll be there after we’re done). Having the opportunity to offer consistent classes allows us to see and feel our bodies adapt to the asana/poses, as well as build a supportive community of yogis. No judgment upon ourselves, our abilities, or our neighbors.
I teach an active style Vinyasa class, leading people of all ages, shapes, and abilities. Can’t touch your toes??? PERFECT… You don’t have to! Contrary to popular belief, flexibility is not a prerequisite of yoga. Your practice will never look like mine or the person you’re practicing next to.
Please join me Sunday evenings at 6 pm. Please bring your mat, blocks (if you use them) and WATER. There are mats available for your use if you don’t have one.
